Dressing Your Curves

I had a styling appointment with a dear friend of mine this past week and it got me inspired. I have done a couple of styling classes here in the Dallas area and had great turnout.
I thought that others may want more insight on what you should be wearing for your body type!
For as long as I can remember I have had "curves" if that is even what you want to call them. I think when you are younger it is such a struggle having a hips or a booty. I think as you mature, you learn to embrace what God gave you!
So over the years I have tried on thousands of items trying to find the right fit. There are a lot of almost maybe's out there, right!!!!! Hopefully through my pain(hehe) you can avoid some of the mistakes I have made in my lifetime of dressing my body.
This post is geared more toward an hourglass figure.

If you have a different shape or want to know yours leave a comment below and I will work on something for you!

What to buy!
Peplum Top here- this top will draw the eye into a v creating a smaller waist line.
If you have hips, wearing skinny jeans and this top will balance out your curves in all the right places!
Okay, so you are looking for anything that will give you a waist line if you are an hourglass figure.
All of these pieces below are great for your body type.
A trench coat is so now, and so perfect for the hourglass figure!
Skinny jeans and high waisted jeans are great for your curves, they keep everything slimmer and in place!
I also threw in my favorite bag right now and my favorite tassel earrings.
The ruffles and v-necks create the eye to go to that area.

Things to stay away from-
Anything that cuts off right at your hip bone, this makes you look larger.
Anything with a thick band at the bottom of your top. It makes your hips look much wider than they are.
Anything that is too tight will show all your love handles and curves. Find clothes that fit well! Don't look at the size, try on all different sizes, see what fits you!
Anything that doesn't give your body shape, don't buy it.
There are lots of cute shift dresses that just fall straight, I can't wear them. I have to belt them or add to them to define my shape in there somewhere.
Printed leggings... just say no.
stripes on your bottom half... again just say no. The stripes stretch and well you know.
Printed bottoms can be really tricky, you have to balance your top with printed bottoms.
Chunky knits are fun, but can make you look bigger on top.  You can still wear them, but find thinner knits.
Love your body, dress for yourself! Embrace your curves! Always remember to keep your goodies covered up, practice practical modesty. You can still be cute, trendy, and stylish without letting things hang out.
My best advice... just because they make it doesn't mean you should buy it!

My Favorite Hair Products!

While it may be snowing other places, here in Texas we have been enjoying crazy sunny days!
The warm days make it feel like summer. When you live here in Texas, all you want to do is put your hair into a bun and be on your way! Right?

I love getting a fresh trim and color on my hair! You should know that I color my own roots each month. I use Preference from L'oreal root cover up! I have used this product for years and I love it!
I have linked all my favorite products below.

A couple months ago I had a trim and I was missing my long hair. IrresistibleMe Hair extensions became my new best friend! I have used and tried other extensions and I honestly can tell you that these outshine the others. The quality and durability is amazing. With 2 younger kiddos it can be difficult to seem semi put together, much less have incredible looking hair 24/7. I love how these transform my hair. Over the last couple of years I feel like my hair is becoming finer, these make my hair feel and look so much fuller.
I do have some color in my hair, so choosing one closest to my natural color was the path I went down. They nailed it on the first try! I would seriously recommend these for anyone who wants to add length, volume or dimension to your locks!
They also have an array of amazing styling products to choose from too!
I choose #4 with 18 inch, at 140 weight. The weight is the key for the fullness!

Save vs. Splurge

So I am really excited to share with y'all some save vs. splurge items.
If you are like me all the spring trends have me at the edge of the ledge dying to purchase! Well, there are so many amazing things out .... but wow, you could spend a fortune trying to keep up with snagging these. I searched high and low to find

The embroidery trend has made it's way to every piece of clothing you can now own! From a shift dress to sweatshirts and now your denim. Get the trend for next to nothing from Charlotte Russe.

The Stripe Bow top is on point this season! Find the look for less here!

If you love wedges but are struggling to figure out how to afford any trendy ones, I found a dupe from Marc Fisher.... however, I won't spend that much on wedges... Target has some great finds that are similar!

Lots of amazing and fun trends are hitting the stores this spring. Don't feel like you have to spend a fortune on getting into them. I love finding deals!
You can click on any of the images below and it will take you right to the site!

I love finding a good deal!!!!!

Okay so I added these 2 amazing finds a steal of a deal! BaubleBar has come to Target!!!!!!!!!! The quality is amazing and the styles are just like the ones you buy from BaubleBar.
The Valentino look alike.... this gladiator sandal is all I have thought about since last summer. I had a hard time finding ones that weren't $100.
