Feeling the Love

In the last week chaos has erupted.
My hard drive on my computer crashed. Yes, you can shed tears with me. I had a non sleeping, sick little guy for like 3 nights. It has been like the flood of Noah here in DFW. I don't even know if I remember what the sun looks like. Okay, I am being dramatic. And I recently discovered I am anemic. All that being said, life goes on.
This is the busiest time in our lives. Doing student ministry is really 24/7, but spring leading into summer is crazy. We are prepping for Senior Sunday, Graduations, parties, and of course the big one. Camp.
With all that going on, crazy things have been happening in my life through Instagram and the blog. A couple weeks ago I posted some love for Nordstrom's, I love Nordstrom. So when I started tagging them in some pics a couple of weeks ago, they started commenting on my pics and asking to repost them. I was like what someone pinch me. 4 pics in one week, I was all too elated to share with my besties (who of course shouted and freaked with me) In the midst of that, I was reading through all this stuff about being an affiliate and partnering with Nordstrom's. I have been saying to the Lord, if you want me to keep doing this, I need you to open the doors. Well ...... the doors keep opening. I am now an affiliate with Nordstrom!!! Like who does that? I am no Emily Gemma or Katey McFarland (2 girls I love on insta) but I am me, and I guess I will keep walking through the doors the Lord is opening. I can't wait to share more of this crazy journey.

The Sun will come out tomorrow!

Put a T on it!

Those days when you feel like you have nothing to wear... put a t-shirt on.

I have made graphic tees a staple in my closet this year. I pair them back to cardigans, chambray shirts, distressed denim and even dress them up with structured jacket.
Here are a few of my fav looks in graphic tees and how to wear them.
Some of the best places I have found to grab these tees are Target of course, Kohls (which has totally stepped up their designer collaboration game lately) Francesca's (my fav) and specialty boutiques.
How do you style your T?

Giveaway Time

When the Lilly for Target hit stores and the web, everything was gone within a few hours.
I was able to snag this amazing bag in the midst of the chaos.
I am so excited to be able to do a fun giveaway, in honor of hitting over 10K views on my blog!
Thank you each so much for reading, encouraging and supporting me.
I am still not sure what will happen in the future with all of this. I have had some really fun meetings lately,  and neat things that could come out of them, only the Lord knows.  Can't share anything just yet.
I sit in awe of the Lord and his goodness, when we ask, He answers!
I hope you will hop on over to my Instagram and enter the giveaway!

Happy Giveaway Day!

Mother's Day

What a great Mother's Day!
We woke up to the tornado siren's going off in our neighborhood. Thankfully it was just severe thunderstorms. It was for sure a memorable moment.
My amazing husband and kids gave me sweet cards and a spa gift card. Spent the morning worshipping at church, followed by lunch with my Ashley family at our house. Of course I was showered with more gifts and love!  I love all the laughter and memories of days like today. Ended our day by having family ice cream night with my bestie and her family. I think I want to make that a Sunday night tradition. Just saying. I am a lover of traditions. Sunday dinner after church, family game night, any holiday or event is a moment to start a tradition.
I hope to spend many more Mother's Days just like today!
What about you, do you have any fun traditions? Do you love family gatherings?

My outfit from today
My jacket is from H&M like a year a ago
White top is from Francesca's last year
I scored these adorable leopard print shoes.... payless. I know!!!
BTW my other pic is a board I created of how to style and accessorize this dress. I am now obsessed with doing this. I apologize now in advance for the overload of look books that are to come!
Happy Mother's Day

Jetset

I am seriously so ready for my big trip in June!
I have a serious condition where I can't stop making and or buying these fun t-shirts.
I found this little gem at Old Navy on clearance, it was love at first sight. So was this bag, BTW.
I carried it around the store on my arm for like 30 minutes, until my hubby was like um... what are you doing? I have been looking for a cross body that was comfortable, yet stylish. I am in love with this Steve Madden yummy pink color bag. Since Mother's Day, my birthday are this month...I was able to squeeze this out of him! He is the best!

What are your must haves for traveling abroad?
Spain, Morocco, and France!!!!! June can't get here fast enough.

3 Dresses. 1 Weekend.

If you know me, you know I LOVE weddings. I love everything about them!
I love to plan, decorate, organize... really every part. My favorite part, is when the bride walks in. I love to see the groom's face when he sees his bride for the first time! Bliss!
This past weekend, we had a family wedding in a beautiful outdoor area west of Fort Worth.
Luc officiated the wedding for his beautiful cousin, and we had a giant Ashley family reunion.
I was really excited that the wedding was going to be outside, because I have been dying to wear this adorable dress.
Aside from the rehearsal dinner, and wedding. I had one more amazing event on Saturday to make it a 3 dress kind of weekend!  I was invited by my sweet Gabi to attend the Alpha Delta Kappa spring mother luncheon at Dallas Baptist University . It was such an honor to be there with Gabi and her sweet momma.
My jersey dress from the rehearsal dinner is seriously like 5 years old. I have no idea where I bought it, but I know Francesca's has some this spring.

The Label Lady

Have you seen all her labels? My mind would of course go to her collection of amazing shoes or handbags. However, I am talking about the other labels, you know the ones we give ourselves and others.
Incapable,  ill-equipped, sinner, selfish, jealous, wounded, prideful.
I write today from not a place of totally freedom, rather a path to victory. When I don't see myself as Christ sees me I am living in a crippled state. I have put on labels that truly never existed, rather my crazy mind made them up.
The thief comes to steal,  kill and destroy, but I have come that they may have life and have it abundantly. John 10:10
The enemies goal is to destroy us, we allow him this right when we become enemies in our mind of who God created us to be.
I am not equipped to lead, teach, worship, pastor, mother, serve, befriend or anything else my own. I put barriers around myself and allow things that truly aren't happening to jack up my perspective of what God is actually doing. Can I get an Amen! I may only be speaking to myself, but I am the only one responsible for keeping myself in the rut of an untrue, unwanted label. Did you catch the 2nd part of John 10:10... Jesus came to give us life. That alone is enough but, he goes on to say life abundantly!!!!! Abundant. Whenever I find my mind living in a place of fear or scarcity I will cling to these words. Imagine the things we could do for the kingdom if we took off the labels and put on abundant living.

Abundant
