Beauty Products

I have decided to share with you guys my favorite beauty products. I am going to share some secrets about me that most people don't know.
I have a long standing relationship with my hair products. I am super picky about the products I use on my hair. I have fast growing hair, which means I color it every 4 weeks. I know it is terrible for my hair, but I can't just let all the silver/ grey come through. I honestly only wash my hair like every 4 days. Don't judge. My fin is my best friend, it allows me to hide the unwashed hair for a couple of days and not look gross. I use the Big Sexy powder for lift and volume. It is a time saver and a great way to get volume without all the teasing and spray. When I do wash my hair I use the BioMega volume foam, you know I am and avid believer in having volume in your hair. I can't have flat head. I have tried out a new at home color that I will share if I like the results too.
I used a hairspray a couple months ago that was making my hair super dry, hence the sign that said locks in moisture... it kept it out that is for sure. That is when I discovered this amazing spray from TreSemme. This stuff made my hair feel like butter. I use it after I wash my hair , before I blow dry and after I blow dry too. It has restored the shine and silkiness to my hair. It is a must have for the fall!
My face..... confession. I have never really been good about taking care of my skin. I never really suffered from acne or dry skin. I clean my face with make -up wipe removers. AHHHHH I have used lots of products here and there over the years and just been kind of meh with everything I used. This year I started noticing more lines and larger pores. I know it is kind of gross. I had a friend approach me about Rodan and Fields. I have always paid for like Oil of Olay or Mary Kay, not really every feeling like my skin felt clean or things were minimizing. So I gave this product a try. It is no lie, I have been using 2 regiments for 2 weeks and my skin feels so clean, fresh, and is glowing. I have never used something that I am already seeing results from. I bought the Reverse system which helps with brown spots, and skin discoloration. I also bought the redefine which helps with lines, pores, and firmness. I am a total believer, so much so that I decided that I would become a consultant. I already have so many of my styling clients asking me about products and skin care it was a no brainer. I can't wait to show you my 4 weeks of before and after shots. You will be amazed! I am going to put my website to order if you want to try it out. There is a 60 day money back guarantee.

What products do you use or love? Would you want to see a video from me on hair or face products?

Happy Monday

Dressing for your Body

I get a lot of questions on how to wear things for your body type.
In a couple of weeks I will be sharing with a group of ladies how to dress for your body.
I thought I would share a couple of tips on here.

We have all seen lots of tests out there to see what your body type is. I am still deciding which one I like best. There are a lot of trends that you may think you would love to wear. Trends and high end looks are typically created and worn on 5'8 120lb women. We all were created differently. We must learn to embrace what the Lord gave us. You can wear trends, just not all at once.  Choose carefully how it fits your body type.

Tip number 1. Embrace your assets. If you are top heavy, you have to balance that out on the bottom half. Usually a tasteful v-neck with skinny jeans does the trick. Wearing structured shouldered jackets and tops can also look good. If you are bottom heavy, you don't have to hide it. Wearing a tunic or wrap dress are great ways to smooth out those curves. If you are shorter, wearing a belt to help break up your look. How things fall on your body are very important to make sure you don't loose your figure.  You want to elongate your body, not make it look huge on the bottom.  Let's all just say no to tops that gather at the waist. It isn't flattering on anyone. It can hide a little flab, but isn't worth the look. A large waist band that has elastic in it, really can only be worn if you are a size 2 with no waist and you are trying to create one. Whew... okay moving on.

Tip number 2. Every woman should own 2 things.. well really more but that is for another day.
A wrap dress and a fav pair of denim jeans. You make think I cant wear a wrap dress, they are for older women or slimmer women. False. The wrap dress is designed to show the beauty of our curves. It looks tasteful on every body type. If you are shorter or petite, buying a wrap dress that fits properly and that falls right is the key. Otherwise you will look frumpy. A great pair of jeans will be the staple to your fall wardrobe. I love wearing denim with graphic tees, sweaters, jackets, vest, you name it.

Tip Number 3. Buy for the fit, not the size. You can walk into 5 stores and be a different size in each one. You must buy for the size you are in and focus on the fit. You may be surprised that you are buying the wrong size, and it is adding weight to your figure. If you buy a size too small...enter muffin top. I said it, don't hate me. Fit is the most important thing!

Fall Inspiration

Okay I am doing an Instagram Round up of my fav outfits from last month, and maybe 1 or 2 from this month already.
Fall is my favorite time of year. I can't wait for cold weather, boots, scarves, and layering. With fall on the brain, I am in fall shopping and styling mode.
I wanted to share with you a brand that I have fallen in love with. I am a girl on a budget, so when I tell you where I have been shopping these tops, don't be alarmed. Ever since the Nordstrom Anniversary sale I have become obsessed with a line called Lush. I love the quality of the fabric and the fit of the tops. I ordered this black tunic and have not stopped wearing it.
Recently I had a getaway weekend with my hubby where we shopped a Nordstrom's Rack. I hit the Lush jack pot. I bought 3 items all from this brand. Each of the tops I scored for $16. Y'all that is cheaper than Target.
I have styled these tops so many ways since getting them. I love it paired with skinny jeans, leggings, layering with a jacket or vest. The major find was the adorable black and white jacket ( buy yourself black and white for fall)
Wearing black is so easy for me, so I love to wear bold statement necklaces, shoes and handbags. My marsala flats are from Forever 21. The leopard Sam Edleman flats are from Nordstrom, click the link below to shop them and the tops from Lush. Fringe shoes were a market find (sorry) the leopard booties are from laurep, and the finale.... the red lace up shoe from Top Shop. I seriously could sleep in these shoes. They are so incredibly comfortable and gorgeous at the same moment. They you can also shop from my link. I didn't realize how much I would wear this chunky turquoise necklace, repeat offender for sure!
The leopard clutch, let me take a moment and say this is one of the most requested items I have that people want to buy. I bought mine from Vivalajewels.com, if you use my code you can save 10% off. They go fast, so be sure to snatch one quickly. My code is KristineAshleystyle
With fall on the horizon, get some great basics in your closet that you can jazz up with statement accessories.  If you are looking for styling help, email me to set up a consultation. kristineashleystyle@gmail.com
